MATT COX

A member of the class of 2008 this member of the Secret Society joined the varsity football program for the first time his senior season. Although he had no prior varsity experience Matt entered the program with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to contribute in any way possible. He was able to establish himself as a special teams player and also played in the defensive backfield. One of Matt's biggest contributions came as an outsatnding scout team player. On a weekly basis Matt would help the team prepare by providing both the offense and defense with excellent scout team play. Matt's unselfish contributions were recognized by his coaches and teammates when he was voted the 2008 Scout Team Player of the Year. Matt was also a two sport athlete and was a member of the Viking's Varsity lacrosse team.

The importance of having players like Matt is recognized not only by his coaches but also his teammates. Games are won on Monday thru Thursday and it would be impossible to effectively prepare for game day without players such as Matt who give of themselves even though they know that they may only see limited action during the game.
