A graduate of the class of 2001, Mike was a charter member of the Star Chamber and the group’s leader his senior year. Mike played varsity football for three years and was the team’s starting strong safety his junior and senior seasons. He was an intense competitor who was known for his physical play and on the field leadership. Mike finished his career with 129 tackles (99 original) and scored 402 defensive points. His junior year he led the defense with four recovered fumbles and added two more recoveries his senior season. Mike tied for the team lead with 3 interceptions his senior year and also led the defense with 8 break-ups. He had 11 total career break-ups.

Mike was an Honorable Mention All League selection his junior year and was awarded the 1999 Defensive Coach’s Award for his leadership and standout defensive play. His senior year he was a Second Team All League selection and was also selected Team Captain. In addition Mike earned Co-Defensive Back of the Year honors.
