25 NICK CHRISTENSON
Nick was a two-year member of the varsity football team who made steady improvement throughout his career. He moved into the starting lineup at the start of his senior season and saw significant playing time in the Viking secondary. His steady improvement throughout his junior season was demonstrated by his homecoming performance in the ninth game of the season against San Diego High. Although he didn’t start Nick recorded 14 total defensive points on two tackles, one break up and one interception. The best performance of his senior season came in the Viking's 23-20 victory against the eventual Division IV CIF Champion Valley Center Jaguars. Nick scored 15 defensive points on three solo tackles and made two pass break ups. For his career Nick scored 49 defensive points. He was in on 14 tackles, recorded five break ups and made one interception. Nick was also an outstanding student with a 3.58 GPA that earned him recognition as an Outstanding Student-Athlete by the San Diego-Union Tribune in both his junior and senior seasons. Nick will be remembered for his determination and desire to improve his play. Playing cornerback in the Western League is one of the most difficult challenges that an athlete can undertake and Nick always met these challenges head on. He never backed away from these challenges and continued to provide the Viking secondary with determined play throughout his Viking career.
