MARIO SALDANA
Mario was a two-year Varsity letterman for the Vikings in 2008 and 2009. He was the leader of the Star Chamber in 2009 and a two-time selection to the San Diego Union -Tribune All-Academic Team. In 2009 Mario was awarded the La Jolla Vikings Defensive Coaches Award for his contributions to Viking Football. During his Vikings career Mario recorded 52 tackles, 35 of them were unassisted. He made four break-ups, caused two fumbles and recovered another. He finished his career with 150 total defensive points. Mario's career goal is to become a law enforcement officer and during his high school career he became involved in the Sheriff Department's Police Explorer Program and he has continued with this career track after graduation. His strong work ethic and long term goal setting were positive character traits that set an example for all his teammates. His coaches will always remember him not only for his on the field contributions but also for his dedication to the program and exemplary leadership. |
