OSCAR CARRILLO

Oscar was one of the most beloved and admired athletes to ever wear the Viking uniform.  Measuring about 5 feet in height and weighing about 105 pounds Oscar performed on the field like a player that was a foot taller and one-hundred pounds heavier. He earned respect from not only his teammates and coaches but also from his opponents who realized that what he lacked in stature he more than made up for it by his courage, tenacity and determination. Oscar was always ready to step into any role that his coaches asked him to play. This included playing offense, defense or special teams. Especially remarkable was his ability to play defense and tackle athletes that were at times over a foot taller and outweighed him by over 100 pounds.  During his Viking career he recorded 57 defensive points and was in on 23 tackles. He also broke up three passes.  Oscar's teammates recognized his ability to motivate others by voting him twice the team's Most Inspirational Player.  Below is an "action shot" that hopefully will bring back memories of a great "player."
