ANGEL AYALA
6
A graduate of the class of 2001, Angel was a two-year varsity letterman who made great sacrifices during his varsity career. A part of La Jolla’s Voluntary Ethnic Enrollment Program (VEEP), Angel commuted from Southeast San Diego on a daily basis to avail himself of the academic and athletic opportunities offered at La Jolla High School. Angel was featured in a San Diego Union-Tribune special report on the Veep Program. This article is posted in Angel’s file as it serves to give one an indication of how difficult it can be for students to pursue their education at a high school far removed from their home. |
During his varsity career Angel scored 22 defensive points and was instrumental in helping his coaches and teammates prepare for their weekly opponents. His positive attitude and personality was very much appreciated and helped create a positive atmosphere during practices and team functions. Angel was a member of the County All Academic Team and carried a 3.12 GPA. The following pages contain a historical record of Angel’s participation in Star Chamber activities. All original Star Chamber correspondence and communications are a part of this record. |
