I’m writing to you to fill you in on the upcoming 2000 season. First of all, I was very happy to see you at our DB banquet at Bully’s. I really enjoyed working with you guys last year and I’m very happy that most of you are coming back. |

Last year I started a project called the Star Chamber. The main purpose of the group was to learn about positive leadership and help our team make the right decisions in regards to player responsibility. This year I am going to make the Star Chamber a group project and all the DB’s will play an important role. As such, I am extending to you a special invitation to join our group. Throughout the spring I will be making some changes on our website (www.ixpres.com/starchamber). You will be added as a member and so will all the other DB’s who are not yet a formal part. Take a look at it when you get a chance. |

I am hoping that you will work hard during this off-season. You will see that you are going to be a much better player next year. A year of varsity experience makes a big difference. Sometimes things don’t come easy in football, but this is true about life too. |
| I know how tough it can be to reach our goals when we don’t have many resources. Growing up in the Barrio has its share of distractions, I know from experience. However, if you stay committed and are willing to make sacrifices you will be successful. I am enclosing a copy of you goalsheet from last year. I want you to think about what you would like to accomplish next season and fill out a new one. Return it to me in the enclosed envelope. |
