A graduate of the class of 2001, Jacob was a three-year varsity player who made a tremendous contribution as both a defensive back and kicker. As a defensive back Jacob made 98 tackles (81 original) and finished his career with 343 defensive points. He led the defense with 9 pass break-ups his junior year and recorded a total of 11 for his career.  He also recorded 2 interceptions, caused one fumble and recovered another.

Jacob also made his mark as a place kicker scoring 118 career points. Included in this total were 14 field goals and 76 extra points. Jacob also had a career 36-yard punting average and in addition handled the team’s kickoff duties. He was also very adept at executing La Jolla’s on side kicks that have resulted in a record number of recoveries.

Jacob received numerous honors throughout his varsity career. He was an Honorable Mention All League selection his junior year and a First Team selection his senior year. Jacob was also a two-time member of the County All Academic Team and in his senior year he was selected to the San Diego Union Tribune’s All Academic Football Team with a 4.0 GPA
