I am writing you this letter to extend a very special invitation to you. The Star Chamber has decided to ask you to become a member of the group. The Star Chamber is a secret society that operates within the Secret Society of the White Nine. It has been in existence since December of 1998. There are currently nine active members, and you are being asked to replace a member who was unable to continue serving in this role.

If you accept this invitation you will be asked assume a special leadership role on our team. All active members of the Star Chamber have a special responsibility. Some of our members have done a better job than others in fulfilling their special responsibilities. You are being asked to join the group because of the positive attitude that you have shown this season. I am very proud of the way you have stepped forward and taken advantage of the opportunities that have been presented to you this year. I can tell that you really do care about our team and that you are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to ensure team success.

I believe that not only will you make a good leader, but I also like the fact that you are a junior and that you will be able to continue serving in this role for the following year as well. If you are willing to accept this responsibility, all you need to do is go see Mike Stidman and tell him that you are accepting this invitation. Mike will then tell you more about the Star Chamber and he will also give you directions so that you can visit it. Once you are in the Chamber you will know more about its history and what it is exactly that you’ll have to do in order to be a productive member. Once you accept, I too will sit down and talk to you about what it means to be a member.
